The causes of bleeding hemorrhoids are quite numerous, from pregnant women to people trying too hard to speed up a bowel movement.   This means a great number of people can develop them, and already have at some point.  What you may not have known is that certain medical conditions can also lead to their development.  Knowing what those conditions are may help you better understand why these problems continue to crop up and what you can do about them.

A hemorrhoid condition may appear due to long-term heart disease.  You may develop either internal or external hemorrhoids if you have heart disease.  The vessels inside the anus can become filled with blood, swelling the tissue around it as well.  This means you can experience itching, burning sensations, pain, and you may likely see bright red blood on the toilet paper upon wiping.  This happens because heart disease can cause blood to pool in areas that cause the extra swelling.  The abdominal area and also the pelvic area’s veins can become enlarged, more blood remains there than necessary, and thus a problem has developed.

The same can be said for long-term liver disease.  While the disease itself is different, the causes of bleeding hemorrhoids are the same.  The disease causes blood to pool in the same areas and if there is too much blood getting trapped in the veins around the anus, you’ve got a new condition to deal with.  However, you do not have to worry too much about them, as oftentimes they are not very serious.  You might be uncomfortable for a short amount of time until they go away on their own.  You may not even realize you’ve encountered them.  Only when the issue becomes severe do you need to seek out medical attention.  Until then, see if the issue will resolve itself.  If need be, you can always purchase a cream or find other ways of soothing your discomfort.  Don’t let them worry you too much if the symptoms aren’t severe.  Instead, concentrate on your main medical condition, as that is more important.  Ask your physician if there is anything that can be done that may help to prevent them from cropping up in the future.

One severe medical condition that causes them is actually quite rare.  Tumors that grow in the pelvic region can place too much pressure on the veins and lead to hemorrhoids.  Remember – this is rare.  If you don’t have either long-term heart disease or liver disease and suddenly feel itching, pain, and notice mild bleeding when you use the bathroom, don’t panic.  You are not likely to have tumors suddenly appear in your pelvic area.  Be patient and wait a week or two to see what happens.  Don’t strain during your time in the bathroom and make sure you have a solid fiber intake.  Even if they become more serious, a trip to the doctor will take care of them.

There’s no need to worry yourself over a small circumstance.  Stay focused on your overall health and you may not have to think about them at all.
